Michael Murphy’s latest high-flying Jake & Laura mystery features a Hawaiian honeymoon that’s interrupted when their friend Amelia Earhart is accused of murder.

Michael Murphy has me hooked on his Jake and Laura Mysteries. I look forward to this charismatic couple and their fun adventures as they solve the mystery.

Wherever Jake and Laura find themselves, Murphy masters the atmosphere, he manages to nail the era with precision. This time we are in Hawaii with an eclectic cast, witty banter, and plenty of history as well as historical figures. Honeymooning in Hawaii the lovable couple find themselves solving yet another mystery Jake & Laura style translating to pure endless entertainment for the reader. Never a dull moment with this dynamic duo.

Appearances by Amelia Earhart, George Patton and George Putnam contribute to the narrative. Murphy never lets me down with his spot on dialogue along with intriguing mystery element. I love the way Jake and Laura stumble into sleuthing, promising never again. Their chemistry is easy and they are an endearing couple. Complimenting each other where the other falls short, they just work which makes this series completely delightful.

Suspects galore, solid writing in tandem with mystery, this couple pulls you into their world with no shortage of fun and interest. Murphy succeeds again with another fine installment in this embraceable series.
