So begins the story of Annabelle, a young escort in Paris who has accepted her final proposition before marrying the powerful and generous man of her dreams, media mogul David Barlet. Through visits to the Hotel des Charmes, where each chamber is dedicated to one of French history’s great seductresses, Louie awakens Annabelle’s body and her psyche, delivering her to heights of ecstasy and fits of passion. He pushes her beyond her limitations to tap into her deep seductive power—and she discovers that true freedom comes only when you fully surrender to desire.
Funny, sensual, candid, and revealing, Hotelles is a titillating novel of mysteries and surprises by a radiant new voice.
~Goodreads page summary~
This story is packed with intrigue and mystery. A very well developed romance/erotica novel. Book one in a trilogy, I am very curious to see what will unfold in the following books.
The writing and numerous twists and turns keeps the reader on their toes anticipating what will transpire through every page turned. Intricacy, attention to fine details and carefully laid peppering of clues adds to the powerful intrigue and mystery.
Elle is an interesting woman. Highly intelligent, no pushover, tenacious and she discovers a few qualities she failed to realized she possessed.
The Barlet brothers are an interesting pair. The reader becomes very familiar with their individual personalities and past. Mars did a wonderful job developing all the characters, the personal qualities evoked from all the characters hooks the reader deeper into the engrossing narrative.
Mars created a read with a level of suspense grabbing the readers focus, you definitely find yourself questioning what will happen and how will all this end. The erotic element added to the plot, just enough to push the narrative without taking away or dominating the entire story.
Hotelles is a grab bag of genres – suspense, mystery, romance, erotica it is a splattering of this and that which makes it so darn great. Well written and fans of this mixed genre concept will be enthralled.
